Universal Studios Hollywood Celebrates 60 Years of the Terrific Studio Tour and Gets a Short Term Fall Guy Stunt Show
Ryan Gosling made a surprise appearance at The Fall Guy Stuntacular Pre-Show's debut while Universal's Studio Tour's 60th anniversary additions reinforce what makes that experience so satisfying.
I paid a visit to Universal Studios Hollywood on Saturday to check out a couple of new additions to the theme park that debuted this weekend. Both are temporary, though one will only last for a few weeks, while the other is here through most of the summer - and serves as a well-deserved enhancement and spotlight for a true theme park legend that is, thankfully, not going anywhere.
First up is the oddly titled The Fall Guy Stuntacular Pre-Show. Timed to the release of the new Universal film, The Fall Guy, the “Pre-Show” part of the name comes from the fact that this is not its own show, but rather a short presentation that runs prior to Universal’s Waterworld stunt show in that show’s outdoor arena.

The first official presentation for the Pre-Show on Saturday came with a notable surprise for guests and press in attendance: The Fall Guy star Ryan Gosling and director David Leitch being a part of the entire thing, along with taking part in a Q&A after. No, Gosling didn’t do any stunts himself (though Leitch, who was a longtime stuntman himself, did do one), but having him there obviously heightened the experience considerably, and it was great to see him give so much praise afterwards to the incredible work of stunt people, including his two Fall Guy doubles, Ben Jenkin and Logan Holladay, who popped in during the Q&A.
