Pachinko Season 2 Review: A Terrifically Engrossing and Emotional Series Returns
The excellent multigenerational drama is back for eight new episodes.
Apple TV+’s terrific Pachinko returns for a second season this week and, like too many streaming series across the board these days, it arrives after a frustratingly long break given its previous season aired back in 2022. Before I began diving into the Season 2 press screeners, I watched Apple’s short official recap of Season 1 as a refresher, yet still had to remind myself of a few specifics along the way as we’re reintroduced to various characters. But it’s well worth all of that, as these eight new episodes remain an incredibly involving, beautifully acted look at a family across multiple eras and generations.
Given this review of Season 2 does mention some plot reveals from Season 1, I will say now, for those who haven’t seen the series at all but are spoiler averse and thus want to drop out before the next paragraph, please check out Pachinko.
