House of the Dragon Season 2 Review - Game of Thrones' Prequel Aims for War
The first four new episodes deliver satisfying spectacle though the supporting characters can't match up to GoT's roster.
After a two year absence, House of the Dragon returns Sunday night, and while I can’t say I’m anywhere near “Game of Thrones is baaaaaack!” levels of old school hype, watching the four episodes (out of eight total this season) provided in advance to press is a reminder that this show does hit the right notes we want from a Game of Thrones spinoff. At the same time though, it also feels a bit like a hollower version of Game of Thrones - it’s good, but it’s also just not as satisfying.
